چکیده
Abstract We derive a large-scale hydrodynamic equation, including diffusive and dissipative effects, for systems with generic static position-dependent driving forces coupling to local conserved quantities. show that this equation predicts entropy increase thermal states as the only stationary states. The applies any system number of local, parity time-symmetric quantities, in arbitrary dimension. It is fully expressed terms elements an extended Onsager matrix. In integrable systems, matrix admits expansion density excitations. evaluate exactly its two-particle–hole contribution, which dominates at low density, scattering phase dispersion quasiparticles, giving lower bound production. conclude molecular dynamics simulation, demonstrating thermalisation over time scales Toda interacting particle model inhomogeneous energy field.

Hydrodynamics and Fluctuations Outside of Local Equilibrium: Driven Diffusive Systems
We derive hydrodynamic equations for systems not in local thermodynamic equilibrium, that is, where the local stationary measures are "non-Gibbsian" and do not satisfy detailed balance with respect to the microscopic dynamics. As a main example we consider the driven diffusive systems (DDS), such as electrical conductors in an applied field with diffusion of charge carriers. In such systems, th...
متن کاملNonlinear driven diffusive systems with dissipation: fluctuating hydrodynamics.
We consider a general class of nonlinear diffusive models with bulk dissipation and boundary driving and derive its hydrodynamic description in the large size limit. Both the average macroscopic behavior and the fluctuating properties of the hydrodynamic fields are obtained from the microscopic dynamics. This analysis yields a fluctuating balance equation for the local energy density at the mes...
متن کاملUltrasonic Measurements of Inhomogenous Stress Fields
An acoustic technique for measuring inhomogeneous stress fields in externally loaded solids is described. This method requires a measurement of transit time of a longitudinal acoustic wave through a stressed thin metal specimen using a small diameter water-coupled acoustic transducer. The transducer is mechanically scanned over the surface of the sample by a computer controlled system to take s...

Production of kinks in an inhomogenous medium. Abstract The purpose of this report is presentation of the main modifications of the standard Kibble-Zurek formalism caused by the existence of unperfections in the system. We know that the distribution of kinks created during a second order phase transition in pure systems is determined solely by the correlation length at freeze-out time. The corr...
متن کاملNon - Stationary Subdivision for Inhomogenous
This paper provides a methodology for the systematic derivation of subdivision schemes that model solutions to inhomogeneous linear diierential equations. In previous work, we showed that subdivision can be used to capture very eeciently the solutions of homogeneous, linear diierential equations. The resulting subdivision masks are stationary and can be precomputed, allowing for very simple and...
